enGrid on multiple cores

Hi folks,
I'm yet another newbie in CFD and was asking myself if it is possible to run enGrid on more than one core. Currently I'm working on a machine with eight cores but enGrid is just using one of them. I remember the installation process where you have to declare the number of cores your machine has, so that's what led me to this question.

Does anybody run the enGrid meshing process in parallel?

Hi large_eddy,

In the old enGrid forum, you should be able to find this thread: http://engits.eu/vanilla/index.php?p...everal-cpus/p1

AFAIK, it still doesn't mesh in parallel, but as indicated on that thread, the trick is to do multiple meshes at the same time, since trial-and-error is almost a must with enGrid ;)

Best regards,
Bruno

Hello,
that should be an improvement since I am in deed still looking for the optimal settings for my mesh. Using more instances of enGrid makes total sense.

Thank you, maybe you have an idea with my other problem.
("Rule of thumb" thread in the enGrid forum)

Kind regards!
