OpenFOAM Architecture in Windows

1 Attachment(s)
Hey, I have just started with OpenFOAM/Engrid, I am trying to solve the mesh generated from the Engrid 1.3 tutorial.

I've gotten up to exporting to OpenFOAM, but running the simulation does fairly little. I get a message:
Code:

int OpenFOAMTools::getArguments() called.
getArguments DONE

But nothing else seems to happen?
I wondered if the problem could be my Engrid settings. I've attached an image showing my OpenFOAM architecture. Can someone tell me whether this is correct on a windows machine?

If not, what should it be? If it is correct, what am I doing wrong?

Regards, Martijn

Greetings Martijn,

Sorry for the really late reply, but only today did I manage to give a quick look into the threads here at enGrid's forum :(

I assume you've figured it out since then, but the easiest solution is to not use this feature at all, unless you're willing to modify enGrid's C++ source code.
This is because at least up to enGrid 1.4, the last supported OpenFOAM version was, if I'm not mistaken, 1.6.x. Since then, OpenFOAM kept changing and the folder addresses are no longer valid, no matter what values you set in the enGrid configuration window :(

The best is to use enGrid to do some preliminary preparation of the whole case, i.e. "Export -> OpenFOAM -> OpenFOAM (grid+solver parameters)". Then you will have to modify the exported case manually, by basing yourself on OpenFOAM's own tutorial cases present at "OpenFOAM-*/tutorials", due to how much OpenFOAM has evolved since then.

Best regards,
Bruno

Thanks for the reply,
I had given up on it, only using enGrid for preliminary stuff as you suggest.
Too bad, enGrid would have been a rather nice graphical interface otherwise.
