Ensight grid creation

Hi, I am a new Ensight user, and I am attempting to create an image showing the time-averaged velocities (using vector arrows) of particles in my system (a rotating cylinder). I want to create a 100x100 grid centred on this cylinder, so that I am able to perform calculations in each section of the grid. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to split my rotating cylinder Part into the desired subsections?

Thanks

Kelly

Grid Clip

Kelly,

If you are looking to display the velocity vectors from your continuum on a a uniform grid, you can simply use the Clip Plane Creation, Along with the Plane Tool. With the Plane Tool, you can either use the resolution of the mesh, or specify a "Grid" clip, where you can specify the X and Y resolution in a uniform fashion. This will intersect the domain with a regular grid, on which you can display vector arrows (typically at each node of the grid).

If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact your local EnSight Support representative in your region, or via the main help line (support@ensight.com).

Hi Kevin, Thanks so much for your response. I am actually looking to make a 3d grid, with x, y and z components, where I can extract information from each grid element and get averages.. I will try contacting my Ensight rep as well. Cheers :)
