contact resistance in flotherm

Hi, does anybody nows how can I define a contact resistance between two parts in flotherm?
thanks in advance ,
Sivan

Hi, Thermal conductivity defines the contact resistance. so,assign thermal conductivity of the component in material property window.thank you

Hi,

I'm guessing that you're not speaking about the contact resistance from the electrical point of view (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contact_resistance). I assume you are speaking about the thermal contact resistance as the temperature drop between 2 surfaces in contact (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermal...ct_conductance).

If my assumption is correct then you have to right click onto the cuboid you want to add a thermal contact resistance -> click on "Surface...". On the new opened window "Surface Attribute" enter the value for the "Rsurf-solid" [K*m^2/W].

E.g.: If you have 4µm air@25°C gap between an aluminum cuboid and the TIM you have to add a Rsurf-solid equal to (4*10e-6)[m]/(0.026)[W/m*K]=1.53e-4[K*m^2/W] on the surface of the aluminum that is in contact with the ThermalInterfaceMaterial.

Hope it helps, Gabi

good.
As you told, we design model like that.
