because I need to further Post-Process my simulation results, I saved data and do computation with Matlab.

If I am able to superimpose the setup from Flotherm onto Matlab plot, it will be even fancier (sort of isosurface above model).

Please enlighten me! many thanks!

the first graph is isotherm surfaces with the model.

The blue one, I expect to be interesting as well. If I use scatter3 to individually plot temperature distribution in different color, then sort of I can visualize the contour and temperature at the same time. but seems that I am not able to improve the quality up to the level I like. still too ugly. to remove the room temperature, points cooler than certain value are not plotted.

transparency shall be included. also, interpolation is needed when zoom in. markers shall be nice shiny spheres.

hi,
this sounds more like a Matlab question.
try the question also on a Matlab forum. Although my colleagues do post processing in Matlab it's only for dinamic system simulations. they fit the electronic components Zth curves in Matlab and then simulate different load cycles. but I have no idea how they do it.
best regards, Gabriel

Thanks for your reply, Gabriel! Yes, more a question of Matlab.

Previously tried with Matlab forum but not very successful so I gave up.

Also, if I think about the ratio of people familiar with Matlab over CFD is much higher than the one of CFD/Matlab. So I decided I need to try it here.

In fact, I have got clumsy solutions to both questions. As to the 3D plot of model with temperature distribution, I almost reach my goal, very close.

But my purpose is to subject it to guys' comment. also if people from Mentor accept this (if new, or sort of new), then they may want to consider doing it.

Thanks again for responding!
Gino

Hi Gino,

Did you manage to link SWFS with Matlab?
I've seen online that you can generate a Macro in SW and then edit the script in Microsoft Visual basic. I don't know if that could work with Matlab.

Hope it helps,

Bárbara
