Hello FloEFD users
I am writing in order to help. I would like to make CFD simulation of simple ball valve. The medium is a steam. I would like to simulate flow at 100°C which corresponds with the pressure +- 0.1Mpa. (according to thermomechanical tables). Mass flow rate: m=0.001329kg/s Could anyone help me with setting of boundary conditions and other parameters to get relevant results ? Because setting the mass flow as a inlet and static pressure as a outlet seems to be strange. Thank you very much |

Hi fazolex,
Can you elaborate more on what went wrong? Is there a warning message under info when running the simulation? Also looking at the picture you provided it seems you made "mass-flow as Outlet" and "pressure Opening"(not pressure outlet) at the other end. |

Hello will321321,
The pictures you can see in attachment represents: -inlet mass flow 0.001329kg/s (steam) -pressure openings - static pressure.¨ Initial pressure corresponds to thermomechanic table for 100°C = 101325Pa. I am not sure obout setting of the initial velocity (for X axis). At some tutorials I found "Dependency" configuration which takes into account Re, velocity, viscosity and tube diameter. My question is: Is it needen to be set ? Btw I ran the simulation but I got several error messages, as you can see in the pictures. I cant evaluate the result of the the Mach speed but the small space around the ball will probably cause problem. Thank you very much for any advice. Pictures: http://postimg.org/gallery/12pjq1why/ |
