can you teach me how to add a heat source on a surface?
I want to use flow3d to deal with the temperature distribution of an object surface. Can you tell me how to add a heat source on it ?I tried to set boundry condition by changing GUI(ie:BCDATA),but I still couldn't realize it.What should I do?Thanks.

Try adding the variables POBS or SPOBS (they're the variables for the component solid, not the boundary). POBS specifies thermal energy rate for the entire object, SPOBS specifies it per unit area of surface. Only specify one, based on what you know.

About heat source in flow3d
I know what you said, but how can I set parameters to definite the heat source'position coordinates by trying to input POBS or SPOBS ?Now I want to input a invariable surface heat source at a special position(x=10mm,y=5mm,z=10mm),What should I do?

flow3d fortran code
Dear JBurnham,
Thank you so much!I figured out what you said. Now I want to use fortran subroutines to realize the goal that adding a surface heat source.Could you tell me how to link my customizations and make Flow-3D to response to them?BTW,could you give me an example? Thanks |
The answers you seek are in the User Manual, which comes as an html document with the software.
