hi i want to model scour in flow-3d how to define clear water condition in flow-3d?how many mesh i need for my scour modeling?

You want your mesh to be fine enough for Y+ to be within an acceptable range, but not too fine so that it takes a lot of computational time.

I am not sure I fully understand your question...

You do not need any particle tracking to model sediment scour around a pier I presume.

All you need is the sediment scour module, which does not model discrete particles, but a continnuum (volume of sediment via fluxes).

If you want to track individual particles I suppose you can, but you do not need this to model sediment scour.

thank you I want to model scour in live bed condition and I thought I want particle part for modeling live bed!!!is it wrong?

Sorry, I see I missed a "not" in my reply, I have corrected it now...

What I mean is, if you want to model sediment sour, the sediment scour model of flow3d will suffice. You do not need to track particles to model sediment scour correctly. You can do that if you wish however.

I am not exactly sure what you mean by "live bed", but if you mean a "predefined packed sediment bed", the scour model will do...
