defining bondaries in multy-blocks
Hi, there.
The problem i face is how to define bondary type in the connection of two blocks. The model i created must use sevral blocks to cover,at first i used symmetry bondary to define the connection of two blocks ,but in the analys tab i only can see the part in the first block, the others are missing. then i tried the specified pressure bondary type, it did'nt work either. now i am confused about it. Can you help me?( the model is a spillway.) thanks! Best regards! |
You don't need to specify any particular boundary type at the interface of two blocks. The interface has to line up exactly (if the blocks are 'linked'), or the smaller block needs to be inside the larger block entirely. On the Analyze tab, look for the 'Mesh Blocks' button at the bottom and make sure all blocks are activated for display.

so just specify the ‘linked’ block according to the default Settings ?

In the code of the case you should put ibct(5)=9, in the right mesh IBCT(n) Boundary condition type at mesh block boundaries 1, = symmetry plane 2, = rigid wall 3, = continuative boundary 4, = periodic boundaries (must be applied at opposite sides of mesh) 5, = specified pressure boundary 6, = specified velocity boundary 7, = boundary values obtained from previous calculation using grid overlay (GO) procedure 8, = outflow boundary that minimizes wave reflections 9, = inter-block boundary 10, = surface wave boundary (for n=1, 2, 3 and 4 only) 11, = specified flow rate boundary (Volume flow rate) |
