Hi everyone,

I am trying to model the steam injection into underground soil to to reduce the viscosity of the hydrocarbons. But, currently I am modelling (FLOW3D) a simple square cube of soil with steam penetrating from the bottom. I have a few questions,

1. Should I set the component as permeable mold or change the porous properties or both. What is the difference?

2. What is the boundaries I need to set? Currently I have tried using wall with a guess known power source (J/s). I am thinking if pressure boundary should be better, but this does not allow me to amend the power source. I need to consider the heat and steam penetration of soil.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

kev.
