Problemon Modeling of a very large storage

Dear all Flow 3D experts

Now I am creating a very large long storage model with the length is 6000m , the widths is 100 m and the depth is 50 m with mesh size is 20m. My question is my model is normal? because it creates a very extraordinary result file size, it's 255 GB !! I'am very shocked with this size file.. . I am sorry because my question is ll bit out of Flow 3D core skill..:)

My best Regards,

Roy

No, that's not normal. Check your Output tab. Have you put numbers in any of the output interval boxes: restart, selected, or history? Those numbers are in seconds. If you put in small numbers you'll have very many outputs, and this will fill up your disk.

If you delete the numbers (blanks), FLOW-3D defaults to: restart output every 1/10th of the simulation time, selected & history outputs every 1/100th. This will produces an output file that might be up to 2 GB if you have a very very fine mesh, but you do not.

Once you have done that, check your mesh carefully to make sure you don't accidentally have billions of cells. You should have <=12 million for a desktop, and preferably <<1 million for a fast model.

I think the problem is in your output interval.
