Greetings from Australia

Hello from Australia to all the Flow-3D users out there! It's great to see we finally have a 'home' at CFD Online.

By way of introduction: I have been using Flow-3D for about 7.5 years now, mostly for open channel flow in hydraulic structures (spillways, intakes, outfalls, pump stations, fish passages etc), and I've also used it for the occasional blast analysis or ventilation study.

Looking forward to being a part of the forum!

Cheers,

Hi Ali,

You should start by looking at the example model of 'Flow over a weir' to understand how the boundaries and initial conditions should be set up.

Then you need to modify the example to include your Ogee crest geometry. I usually create a 3D STL file using third-party modelling software and import it into Flow-3D.

Cheers, Karen

Ps - you might want to upgrade your software too, there have been a lot of improvements since v8.2!

My research is pump stations. I want to put pump in the simulation, and i was using fan and impeller mode but the flow behind the impeller was not ture. would you sent me some cases about this model? thank you very much. i do appreciate it
