FSI-Fluid Structure Interaction

I would like to ask for comments about Fluid Structure Interaction in Flow-3D. I need to model the motion of a device which is being induced by fluid around it. I read about GMO Model of Flow-3D.

Re: FSI-Fluid Structure Interaction

The GMO is a rigid body, no deformations. Does it sounds like it will be suitable? What kind of device are you modeling

Re: FSI-Fluid Structure Interaction

yes I am not modelling deformation. I only need pressure and velocities in the fluid while the body moves in response to the fluid motion.

Then the GMO model is perfect! you can have also more than one moving body in your domain, and FLOW-3D solves the 6dof free dynamics of all your bodies, coupling it with the fluid.
