force mesurment
i have one odject in an flow of a river and i want to see the forces from the flow on it. i find this force in general history under the Anaylyze>Probe panel but know this option is just gone. how i can find it??

How about inputting the observation points?
You have to input the observation points want to monitor. You can input observation points with text editor.
Add "xloc(n)=rx, yloc(n)=ry, zloc(n)=rz" between &grafic and /. Where, n is order as integer, r_x,y,z is location you want as real. When the simulation is finished, you can see the physical magnitude at reserved points. (Analyze > Prove > General history or Mesh dependent history) |
Re: How about inputting the observation points?
however you should have it also if you don't set the observation point, if your object is defined as a GMO. (still under Analyze -> Probe -> General History)
If your object is not defined as a GMO you can still have the forces in the output, but you have to use the "force window" feature. |
Is active "force window" at version 9.x?
Hi, Stefano!
Thank you for your response. Is active "force window" at version 9.x? I used to build "force window" for monitoring flow rate at 8.x. I made a simulation same input file at 9.x, but it was not active. [For example]======= nwinf=n, fortl(n)=' XXX ', xf1(n)=r, xf2(1)=r, yf1(1)=r, yf2(1)=r, zf1(1)=r, zf2(1)=r, ==================== In the case of solving at 8.x and post-processing at 9.x., could receive physical magnitude from force window. Please, teach me some skill. ^_^ |
Re: Is active "force window" at version 9.x?
yes, it is! I used it with 9.2 and I guess it is still present also in 9.3, strange that you can't do that.
The variables are the ones that you wrote, and you have to add them inside the 'grafic' namelist. It should work. |
Re: Is active "force window" at version 9.x?
Thank you. I will try to do it.
