flow of oil

Hi all!

I would like ask You about simulation - flow of oil through the filter in FLOW3D.
Can we simulate it?

How Can I describe material properties for filter? This is some kine of fibrous material.

Regards

this is doable by using Porous Medium option to simulate the flow resistance through filer. With porous medium option you need to calculate both drag coefficient a & b based on your filter pore size. hope this help.

Hi ck5285,
thank you for the reply!

please look on the screens...

What kind of value (for ADRG and BDRG) should I use to simulate filter?
You wrote that it depends from the pore size. But this pores are really small.

thanks in advance

the image attached may not clearly show the filter shape or design, anyway you can refer to link below from Flow-3D on how to calculate drag coeff a & b as below.
