a void is a region of a uniform temperature and pressure. The inertia of the gas in it is ignored. In a variable pressure void (bubble) model, the pressure reflects the amount of gas in it, e.g., vacuum or atmospheric. If the constant void pressure model is used (default), then this distinction is irrelevant.
