Hi,
I am going to model a rigid body in oscillatory flow(say in x direction). Can someone hint about the inlet and outlet configurations. I mean what boundary conditions Flow3d offers for such simulations.
Thanks in advance

You can define pressure at inlet and outlet or flow rate (or velocity) at the inlet and outflow or fixed pressure at the outlet. If the incoming flow oscillating, the inlet bc conditions can be defined as a tabular function of time, up to 500 points.

Thanks MuxaB, for oscillating inflow do i need to specify tubular velocity at the inlet only or at outlet as well. because once the direction of the flow changes the inlet will become outlet and the outlet should serve as inlet.

regards

I see. The simplest thing you can do is have pressure at one boundary and velocity at the other, with the latter tabulated to represent the oscillations. The pressure bc should be made of type static rather than the default stagnation.
