I'm italian and I'm an engineer who works in inkjet world. I'm developing a new piezoelectric printhead for printing on tiles and I need to simulate drop formation.
When I had to simulate pressure history and velocity history I used FLUENT and I model a 2d surface, so with axis-symmetry condition I can obtain a full developed structure.
For drop formation I think Flow-3d is better than FLUENT, so I'm trying to use it, but can I work in the same way?
Can I model a 2D surface for 1/2nozzle and use symmetry to have other 1/2? Or in general is possible to simulate 2D or 1D problem?
Because now I model 2D surface, but when I mesh it software crashes if try to use a 2D mesh. When a 3D mesh all is ok, but I want a 2D problem.
