how to generate STL files correspond to the topography??

i have to work on a river bed with topographic variation
how can i generate STL files correspond to the topography in AUTOCAD?
can you help me?:confused:

You can try the following:

1. At the prompt type STLOUT
2. Select objects
3. Choose "Y" for Binary
4. Choose Filename

But it is not necessary to have the topo as an stl in flow3d. You can open topo files in flow3d. See examples in flow3d there is one with a topo file.

Generate STL file from a Topography
 

First of all you have to make a surface of your topography in CIVIL 3D software. After that you have to extract the TIN surface of your topography.
Result is 3dFace object that you can save as DXF format.
Now you have to import your DXF file in to MATERIALISE MAGICS software.
In this software you can edit your stl format files.
It's good to know that the flow-3D can produce the topography by points of Topo. But the result is not very satisfactory.

you can import the xyz file directly into flow 3d

how to measure velocity at u/s and d/s of dam

you can output x-, y- or z- velocity at any location from probe or 1-D sub-tab of Analyze tab in FLOW-3D.
