in concentric tube heat exchanger solid wire is wound on the inner tube .in which software we have to do that that's why it will generate 3 bodies outer , inner, and helix. where helix solid wire is used to create swirl in the flow.

i'd think any CAD package cam do it, as long as you can convert the result to STL format before importing into FLOW-3D
