Erosion Due to Cavitation
Hi to everbody out there,
Hi folks i would lik to model Erosion which s caused due to cavitation in fluent 14 or in 14.5, can anybody plz help me out how to model tis case. i searched for some tutorials files online bt didnt get any. am in need of it so badly.:confused: |
Hi,
send me a pm with your email if you are interested and I'll send you a simple tutorial about dpm erosion (water + sand). I cannot upload here as it exceeds the maximum file size. Daniele |
hello Daniele,
thanks for ur reply. Acutally my problem is i wanna know how to model erosion which is caused because of fluid flow. u r suggesting me to model a erosion which s caused because of sand particle. let me mak it simple for u. coz of fluid flow in a cylinder there may erosion tak place. i want to model tat erosion caused by the liquid on the solid surface ok. Hope so u got it. my mail id is nijaanthan@gmail.com. |
Sorry,
I didn't read well your post. Daniele |
So is there any chance of modelling that problem in fluent????
|
off course: start a cavitation simulation then post process the criterion for the erosion due to gas bubbles collapse frequency
|
Thank u Zaktatir.
I would like to know how to post process for erosion? Am interested in knowing only abt the erosion which is happenning in my domain. So how do i do tat? Can i get any reference if possible??? |
look for papers about that and ask your support for examples. I saw this yesterday hot to make it. You need the criterion of erosion and carry out the rayleigh-plesset modeling of cavitation nothing more (okay cavitation may be very numerical tricky and expensive time steps)
|
you need implement the criterion in order to calculate the erosion rate

hi all, I want to calculate the particle trajectory in a valve. I have got the converger result of gas flow field inside. But when I added DPM into it, some error happened. Error: Floating point error: invalid number.
Are there some special issue to be noticed when using DPM? The point Properties: diameter 0.0001m, Temp 500K, velocity 1m/s, total flow rate 0.1kg/s. The max NO. of steps is 1000. Courant number is 0.1. So what's the problem may be? Thanks a lot |
