How to define the diameter for second phase in Eulerian model in free surface flow

Hi, everybody
I have a problem confusing me for a long time. I want to use Eulerian model to compute free surface flow for that the drag force between the two phases can not be neglected. But the diameter must be proposed and I found that the diameter has a great effect on the sharpness of the interface. However, I do not know how to define the diameter for free surface flow, many literature reported that for bubble flow. my condition is different from that, right?

Sometimes i use the eulerian appraoch in modeling free surface flow when i want to use anistropic drag and zonal discretization

If you do not have any entrainment or gay supply then set the diameter to the default value that would be a good start. Small diameter results in bigger interfacaial exchange and bigger area concentration which is similiar to the one fluid formulation
