Hello guys! I am trying to simulate a laminar, steady, incompressible, flow of water in a stepped land thrust bearing. I want to take into consideration the effects of cavitation but I can't really figure out how. It does not seem to converge when I select the Multiphase-Mixture model.

My questions are:

1. Can cavitation be modelled on laminar flows?
2. Under phase interactions, do I also have to set the mass transfer conditions form phase 2 (water-vapor) to phase 1 (water-liquid) ?

Any kind of help is very much appreciated. If you have further questions please feel free to contact me.

Thank you in advance!

I have made the calculation like you (laminar flow; without vapor>liquid). And it is ok for the first order discretization method.

You should set interaction from phase-1 (liquid) to phase-2 (vapor); don't set condition from phase-2 to phase-1.
