hi i designed heat exchanger with dimensions outer pipe(length=650, diameter=50 mm, thickness= 3 mm) and inner pipe (length=500 mm, diameter=80 mm, thickness=3 mm) in proe and imported to ansys. please explain me how to make analysis of this heat exchanger in fluent.(boundary conditions ,air inlet velocity=2.5m/s, inlet temperature=500k. water inlet temperature=300k, water velocity=0.5m/s).

Please give your experience level. I mean have you ever done work on Fluent before or any other simulation software? Because you have only done part of pre-process working and the simplest one. Next comes meshing and then Fluent.

initially after importing i completed the meshing and analysis part..but i don't know whether my analysis is correct or wrong. after importing file i made the hallow part filled with material by using fill command. by doing so i get 2 contact regions and in boundary conditions i get many boundary conditions like contact region srg-trg,shadow regions, interfaces.

I have never used the fill option. I understand that you are retaining the solid as well as the hollow filled part and the contact plane between them is showing up as the contact region. This is automatically named in Ansys Workbench meshing. Try checking contact regions in Meshing module.

yes sir i already tried it...sir can you explain me how analysis can be made on hallow components and what boundary conditions are to be specified for contact regions and shadows formed by it.

is boundary conditions are to be specified or it will assume a pre defined value for a particular wall material
