Hi everybody
I want to simulate the water droplet in an air-oil container.
This problem is transient and i can not apply 3 fluids (water, air, oil) in the fluent software. can you help me about this problem?

Thanks in advance

Peyman

Hey,

I guess you should use VoF model and also you'll need a UDF in order to control the droplet injection...

Hi dear amin
thanks for your answer.
I have been used the VOF model but i can not model 3 phase (Water, air, Oil) with it. can you tell me how can i model 3 phase fluids.

best regards

I used VOF in past, I'll help you as much as I know,
what's your problem exactly? Have you patched the oil domain? have you set the inlet boundary condition as water?

Hi amin
In this problem the water drops into a container that contains air and oil.
Tempreture of the water is lower than the oil.
As you see in the picture, the water droplet falls into the oil.
The inlet of this problem is defined by a UDF file with swinging velocity.
I used VOF model, but i could model only two phases (water and air).
The oil phase not modeled and i do not know how can i do it.

Thanks
Peyman

Then you could try using Eulerian model, instead of VOF. I dont have an expirience with this model, but you should be able to simulate more than 2 phases with it. The only limitation for number of phases is convergence and HW limitations.
