shear rate in a UDF

Hi all.
I'm trying to write a UDF that describes the viscosity as a function of temperature. I also need to insert the shear rate (gamma_dot), which I think is already calculated in fluent. But how do I call it? My code is seen below - Any hint would be very nice :)

DEFINE_PROPERTY(pl_visc, c, t)
{
real mu;
real temp = C_T(c,t);
real gamma_dot=???;
{

mu = 2*exp(-0.7*(temp-273))*pow(gamma_dot,(0.5-1));

}
return mu;
}

cheers
