Does anyone know if it is possible to convert droplets stripped from surface waves of a VOF film into DPM particles using a UDF? Trying to capture the droplets with a high density mesh is too much CPU time. The idea would be to take droplets below a given size and convert them into particles so that droplet motion could still be captured with a greatly reduced CPU time.

I'm a novice with UDFs, and I'd like to know if anyone thinks so a UDF is possible in FLUENT. If so, any helpful thoughts, strategies, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ted

Hi, TeaBrogan,
I have the same idea as you.
What I think is to take droplets below a given size and convert them into particles. My thoughts are minus the droplets from VOF term and add the mass source and energy source to DPM.
But I don't know it could be successful or not?
