fluent error

Hi, when I tried to upload my geometry and mesh on fluent I have an error:
Building...

Error: %%create-sliding-interface: wta(sb1-id)
Error Object: ()

interface,
domains,
zones,
Error: get-thread: invalid thread id (integer) or name (symbol)
Error Object: ()
Preparing mesh for display...
Done.
Writing Settings file...
Error: inquire-adjacent-threads: wrong type argument[1] (thread)
Error Object: ()

why?

I haven't sliced edge or something else!!

Have the same problem.

Can't figure it out...

What Ansys version are you using? I'm using the newest version (14). I'm starting to wonder if it is not a bug?? haha

alecon88 February 21, 2012 07:50

Me too..14 version! At the end I have "found out" removing the slice in DM!

what do you mean with "removing the slice in DM"?
And another question...have you two boundaries for each single interface?

Chika_3045 July 23, 2012 10:06

same problem for me, what does it mean by ''removing the slice in DM''? I need slice to generate the mesh I want.
I just update from version 13 to 14, and there weren't this error before.

Hi !

I had the same problem...

I just reiniated the fluent "box" on the workbench

Then it worked... Don't know why so yes, maybe it's a bug !

My bad for "box" I'm french and I don't know how to say this !

Error Messages still exists in FLUENT!

Hello Everyone,

I also experinced the same problem mentioned on the original post. However, I still could get rid of the error messages even though I deleted the "slice" in DM and reset/refresh the Fluent bar. What should do I then to fix these error messages? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi members!

I met a problem concern the CFD, when i create and mesh the model, it's ok. But i perform to set up it, i can't because it requires Fluent.exe, i'm using ANSYS version 14, u can help me to solve my problem, thanks all.

Hi, I'm not sure if it helps anyone but I also had the error "inquire-adjacent-threads: wrong type argument[1] (thread)" but I managed to get rid of it, so I'm gonna post here what I did.

Firstly I'm running a simulation with rotational periodic boundary faces & a sliding mesh with periodic repeats. After setting my simulation up and having it running for N iterations I got the error when I tried to apply periodic repeats in the Graphics Periodicity panel to see the full 360 degree version of what I simulated. It turns out that this was due to the interface. After I had iterated my case I saw that Fluent created an extra entry in the Boundary Conditions panel named "periodic-xxx" which was set to translational by default (although I'd have expected rotational). This didn't let me apply the graphics periodicity.
I then ran a mesh check where everything looked as normal except that right at the end Fluent wrote "Deleting zone periodic-xxx (not referenced by mesh)". And voila, I'm now able to see 360 degree of mesh when analysing contours, stream lines etc.

Hope it helps!

Same problem, it gives:

sliding_boundary_list: zone 5 type not interface
inquire-adjacent-threads: wrong type argument

etc etc etc.

All I've tried to do is model a simple 2D channel with a porous medium in the centre. I've set the perimeter of the porous zone as an interface and the porous zone itself as an interior. I then open fluent and the above errors pop up like 10 times each while its loading. At my wits end with this thing, if anyone knows a way around setting up 3D porous problems please let me know, or email me on:

Sorry not 3D porous problems, 2D porous problems.

Thanks

fluent error

I have same problem but could not get solution.

I have meshed centrifugal pump model in hypermesh 9. then meshed file is exported to gambit for boundary condition. And then simulated in fluent. Whole simulation completes. Then I closed fluent. Then again opened fluent and read case and data file. Now fluent shows error

Error: %si-create-grid-interface: wta(int)
Error Object: (sb1-id . 6)

I can not understand where the problem is. Is it in meshing or grid interface?

Waiting for the reply

Same problem

Hello

Has anyone being able to get a solution. I tried different options with my mesh in ANSYS Meshing. But no matter what conditions I use for meshing, it ends up being the "create-sliding-interface" error. I tried to open the mesh file in serial, parallel, ANSYS 13, 14 and 14.5. Same error.

Hi
I got rid of this error (get-thread: invalid thread id (integer) or name (symbol)) by this way:

if you connect the edges in meshing part with mesh connection you should delete all the contact region in the connections list and the only thing that you should have in connections list is mesh connections, hope it works for u 2.

JouleBrayton October 2, 2013 20:06

I am recieving exactly the same error.
Have you find a solution? I dont understand the last one explained here.

Thank you very much! I need it.

it works. thanks a lot!

skikay December 20, 2013 04:28

you should use hypermesh to mesh your geom, and upload to fluent,it's ok

This worked for me in Ver.14. Thanks!

I don't understand what you mean. Could you kindly explain in more detail the procedure?

I have got the same problem. Ansys doesn't like slide surface. I export my geometry like .stp and create new proyect importing this .stp archive. After that fluent works without problems.
