hi every body

I want to simulate a cylinder with axial moving in a pipe in constant velocity in 3D. one face of cylinder has the velocity inlet b.c and a non - newtonian fluid exit from there into the pipe with constant velocity, while the cylinder moves axial in pipe. my question is that how should I define axial moving for the cylinder and for a face with velocity inlet b.c?

best regards
mhs

for header file go to Ansys install directory >v150>fluent>fluent15.07(this differs according to installed version )>src > header files

I used the given udf for a similar purpose, for moving a whole cilinder in a pool of liquid/another cilinder. the only problem I faced was the deformation of the interior mesh cells, which I could not get to split/grow together. however, the difference I see in your attempt is that the wall, which you are trying to move, is ''blocked'' by the wall, which resembles cilinder side surface. I didn't have that in my case.
I think you should also include this side wall and interior zone in the dynamic mesh and use ''deforming'' as a type. and then work around conditions you have available (remeshing and so on), which define when your cells grow together or separate.

Hi Komon, I am trying to simulate a similar 2D case in which a rectangular channel moves past different ports/geometric boundary conditions. I want to set the motion such that after crossing the entire geometry, the channel should come back at the original position and the cycle should start again. Basically I want to know how I can implement repeating/cyclic boundary conditions for the motion of channel. Any insights and comments will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Pawan
