Please tell me how to give two different fluids at the inlet. The problem which I am dealing is of the heat exchanger which deals with two different types of liquid water and ethanol, so at the inlet surface of both the fluids I need to give the particular fluid only, Please tell me what model to use, I have used velocity inlet condition for the inlet.

hi ,

first of all you should enable "species Transport " model.

then define the respective fluid's mass / mole fractions at their corresponding inlets.

I'm a beginner in fluent but what about model two different nozzles and in 1st nozzle will be 1 fluid, in second nozzle 2nd fluid?
Or if you need to model two different fluids mix togehter maybe try "tutorial 19 - Using the Mixture and eulerian Multiphase Models" .

Are you considering the two fluids immiscible?

If so, you may use VOF or Eulerian Multiphase model with the Immiscible Fluids option checked. Then you can change the boundary type to mass-flow inlet. You should be able to define two different inlet velocities for each one of the phases.

For your case please use the "Multiphase mixture model" and define your fluids by volume fraction at inlet
Eg; Ethanol inlet has Ethanol VF =1 and Water VF = 0..... same for the other inlet

there are many ways of doing that one ie using multiphase option or species option in any way you can do that...

Hello!

I need some help. I have a microchip with two inlets ( water both) and I want to simulate a flow focused. I apply a VOF model where primary phase is sample and secondary phase sheath. On boundary conditon of insample I put the volum fraction of sheath to 0 and to insheath I put it to 1. But after run calculation I found any flow from insheath. I don't know why?

Please could you help me????

But in multiphase mix mode there is only one Volume Fraction to define , can't give 1 to one and 0 to another. One phase have volume fraction.
