Default Porous Media coupled with internal flow

Hello,

I am trying to model a internal flow in channel coupled with porous media in one of sides of the channel (you can see a picture in http://alemaost.sites.uol.com.br/wire_frame.JPG )

In GAMBIT I created two volumes (channel and porous media). The channel has the half of width of the porous media. So I splited one face of porous media at the middle.

One half of the porous media face is overlaped with other face of the channel (in the pictures is in red lines). I have set these faces as interior boundary.

But FLUENT gave to me these warning messages

Note: Separating interior zone 10 into zones 10 and 1.

interior.1 -> interior.1 (10) and interior.1:001 (1) Note: Separating interior zone 12 into zones 12 and 11.

default-interior -> default-interior (12) and default-interior:011 (11) Warning: Inappropriate zone type (interior) for one-sided face zone 1.

Changing to wall. Warning: Inappropriate zone type (interior) for one-sided face zone 10.

Changing to wall.

materials,

interface,

domains,

zones,

default-interior:011 Error: Cannot change interior.1:001 to interior because there is only one adjacent cell thread. Error Object: #f

interior.1:001

default-interior Error: Cannot change interior.1 to interior because there is only one adjacent cell thread. Error Object: #f

interior.1

shell conduction zones, Done.

And after the iteration process the velocity of fluid in porous media is simply zero!!!.

Please, someone coud give me an orientarion?

Thanks for attention,

Samuel

Hi Narges,

I am not sure you still need the answer.
Porous media is an option for fluid type boundary condition in Fluent. In Gambit you just need to define a fluid boundary condition for a volume.
