DO model with semi-transparent walls

Hello all,

While working with DO radiation model with semi-transparent walls and non-gray radiation with participating medium enabled, and if you happen to see the "compute node encountered error" the error is likely because:

the gray band absorption coefficients for the semi-transparent (ST) walls might not have been set. This may happen because, in the your physical model, the ST wall may be assumed very thin and does not participate in radiation.

However, for solution to proceed, FLUENT needs gray-band values for ST wall as well. You may give some arbitrary absorption coefficient value to start-off with and then can be turned to zero later.

Posting here for others and for my self-notes :p

Cheers,
Nisha
