Hi,
I'm trying to simulate water flow through a filter element. The water contains small particles (10µm diameter) which should be filtered out. The filter is set as a thin porous media zone. The volume fraction particles/water is about 2e-5 at the inlet.

My goal is to visualize the accretion and distribution of particles on the filter. I'm not sure which model would work best. Should I use the eulerian-granular multiphase model, and set different viscious and inertial resistance values for the different phases? I tried this, but didn't get good results yet. Even when I'm using the same resistance values for both phases, the soultion doesn't converge.

I also tried the discrete phase model, but I think the volume fraction close to the filter gets much higher than at the inlet, so the multiphase model should be the right one.. ?

Or could I use an UDF to simulate the filter barrier?
