How we can use fluent to analyse supercritical fluids. properties are changing very rapidly at pseudocritical temp. i couldn't find any equations representing this variation. so how we can handle this variable property problem.

regards.

Hi Satyanand,
I am also working on modeling SCW in Fluent. Like you said...the equations of state break down at pseudo-critical line. So I have used EES to generate a plot of values of Cp vs T and density vs T from 350-450 C.

Then i just got a few equations with R sq values almost 1 in Excel and implemented those equations as piecewise polynomial for Specific heat and density. you can do this for viscosity as well...but wont make that big a difference.

let me know how it goes..
all the best..and stick to it.
NO SURRENDER!

i think you have to write an UDF for providing properties like density, specific heat, thermal cond, viscosity to fluent solver....
