Atomization Simulation
 
Hi All,
I am working on my graduate thesis and I would like some help please. I am running a simulation of a pressure swirl atomizer, the fluid is water and existing into air (also, running into high ambient temperature). Than I will be running the same analysis exiting into superheated steam (which is moving in the direction with the spray). My question is:

1. I know I should use a Discrete Phase model analysis, but, should I couple the analysis with another model?

2. Are there any examples (or a tutorials) on how to run this simulation in ANSYS?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DPM is a quite resionable model to be used in that situation that can be used as the model that u r using is good enough for this purpose.
2. Are there any examples (or a tutorials) on how to run this simulation in ANSYS?
you will not be able to find any examples of this simulation anywhere . so don't try to search them . Use hit and trial to learn and the use it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also VOF and Eulerian models can be used in this case.

Does it make since to couple a DPM with a Multiphase model in the analysis where the spray is discharging into moving steam flow?
