Materials Assigned to Walls
When setting up a problem in Fluent, there are materials assigned (automatically) to the walls, even though the walls have thickness of zero. I believe these material setting is not critical, i.e., I won't need to change them from the default (it seems to be aluminum, or another material I have used somewhere in my model). Can someone please confirm if my assumption is correct? (or let me know if I am wrong).
Thanks. AM |
It depends on your simulation.
for instance It might be used if you are accounting for thermal inertia in your case. |
Yes, If you keep wall thickness equal to zero it is neglected in calculations and material doesn't matter.
