Hi everybody,
I'm trying to simulate a flow within a three-phase separator
one of the internal components is the mist extractor which contains cyclones
These cyclones were modeled by building tube elements with swirling elements inside them...so in order to simplify the geometry I'm trying to use the Fan model instead of the swirling element inside the cylindrical tubes.
My question: is this model is applicable in my case?
and If it's yes how I can implement it correctly?
Is there any tutorial about the fan model available?

best regards,

I don't know much about the geometry, but the most important thing in dealing with fan B.C. is that you should know pressure jump (difference) of it. In your case, it is also needed to swirl the flow. Remember: Swirling is performed uniformly in fan thus you should be careful in implementing this B.C.

I implemented a very simple case
I noticed swirling flow before and after the fan zone, however, its more obvious after the fan.
Do u have any Idea if I need to specify the swirling velocity specifications or not?
