please give advise about what I should use.

dear all,
I am new to this forum. I am currently working on oil production analysis.
I need to look into the Temperature distribution and do the analysis for the oil well from surface of ground all the way to down to the bottom of the well.

usually we have big diameter drilling, encaved by a large steel tube (casing). many holes are opened on this tube.

then another tube (production)with smaller diameter goes inside the casing tube and also have many holes opened at the bottom of the well.
fluid is injected into the smaller one, invade in the annular space between two tubes. sometimes fluid is sucked from outside of the bigger tube and invade into smaller also through the annular.

temperatures, pressure, joint effect, valve effect, all thermo process need to be considered in the process.

the result will be a time dependent Temperature profile inside tubes and annular.

I have heard the powerful flenuent. please give some suggest about this. is there anything that is easier to master and functioned enough to simulate this process?

many thanks

It seems to be so easy. Please share a schematic to could help you.

If you already have someone who is up to do these simulations, I would ask him/her about the software. If you don't have someone what is your plan? Do it yourself? Then, I think Fluent is the most common and user-frendly software.

thanks, I don't have anyone using Fluent for this job around me. someone I know been used it for pressure analysis in pipe without thermo involved.

so I guess my next question is that 'can FLUENT model the porous prock outside the tubes?' because it plays important role in heat conduction.
