Time averaged velocity in turbulent pipe flow

Hello everyone,

I have solved a 3D turbulent pipe flow model in FLUENT and I want to plot the time averaged velocity throughout the pipe. I am defining the Flow in=8kg/s and according to the pipe diameter the time averaged velocity should be around 0.35m/s. (I dont know if I should refer to that as mean velocity)
I tried to plot the Velocity Magnitude but that scale is the sum of the squares of the velocity components U=sqrt(Vx^2+Vy^2+Vz^2)=0.73m/s which is not what I am looking for.
When I try to export a plot for Tecplot there are many different velocities I can plot but none of them is the one I need.

Thank you very much,
George

U should be a good estimate of what you are looking for, since the velocity perpendicular to the pipe wall is much smaller than the parallel component. Maybe you miscalculated the average value? Give us all relevant numbers to check that.
