3D porous zone

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to simulate a porous zone, as a part of a 3D volume of fluid, and the only thing I know about it is the fraction of void space in the material (the fluid of the void volume is air).

How can I define the viscous resistance and the inertial coefficient? (I don`t have any information about the pressure drop or the fluid flow velocity)

Thanks in advance.

Get into the user guide there is some good information on how to determine those coefficients.

it depends on the geometry you use as the resistance value depends on the path of flow of the fluid. you could find the method to give resistance using the porous body model in fluent.
