help in choosing reference value...

hi all, i want to choose the reference value for my my project but i,m confuse about it. i want to model ballistic motion of aluminium sphere in the zone of water and air and want to explain about their difference . now i,m confuse in reference value of these two problem . in your opinion i have to change the value for density , length ,area, ... for each problem and if yes what is the value ? thanks for your answer in advance

As i understand, there are two separate computations. if yes, then the fluid material will change, air in first case and water in second. when you define the material you select water from Fluent database,
Hope it works !

thanks for your reply.
it,s true but i mean the refrence value setting. do you have any idea about it, it, s necessory to change it,s value for each problem?

Hi,

I just posted on your other question about reference values, but I figured I'd answer here as well.

You should change those values if you are going to do anything with normalized coefficients. Reynolds number, and force and moment coefficients are calculated by fluent using the values you specify in the reference values area.

See fluent user guide section 36.10!

Good luck
