I am working on project in which we have a 3d problem. In order to simplify our problem we sliced the geometry and put a symmetry surface.... This symmetry surface passes through the outlet and the inlet. My Question: Is the amount of water calculated using fluent is half of the actual amount of water leaving the outlet or Ansys understands that there is a symmetry and gives us the total water?

Help,Mixsim,Generate Grid problem
 
I use Mixsim2.0 , with the mixsim2.1 TUtorial draw.When(Step 7, Grid) Gnertate the grid,error occurs, the following error, how should I do? Thank you!
I have installed gambit2.4.6, fluent6.3.26, can normally generate grid.

It will report "half the actual."

The problem of confusion is mostly human confusion, the "actual" surface is the surface specified in the computational domain. Ansys is using the actual domain specified. Ansys understands that the actual area is the actual area specified, not the un-actual area that was not specified. In other words, it is unfair for you to call the actual amount as the amount leaving the outlet plus another amount leaving some other imaginary outlet. Your problem is different than the problem Ansys is solving.
