Dear all,
I have a question about how to postprocess the data of some of my cases.
I have simulated the flow inside a drift eliminator (lets say in a kind of curved pipe) using LES and I have obtained succesful results compared with the ones available in the literature (pressure drop across the eliminator, velocity and pressure fields, etc...). Then I release particles with constant diameter in the inlet section and run the case for a certain number of time steps (100 for the first simulation), letting the continous phase converge in each time step.
I aim to obtain the collection efficiency of the device by plotting the collection efficiency (i.e. ratio between trapped and released particles) vs a inertial parameter (Stokes number for instance).
The problem is that, obviously, the collection efficiency changes from time step to time step, as in a real case, but, also between iterations in the same time step. Up to now, I have been postprocessing the results manually, that it's to say, obtaining a mean value for that parameter in each time step, plotting the variation vs the time and finally taking the mean value. But the problem is that this task is kind of tedious so I want to ask if any of you know an standard procedure to perform that task in order to compare the results with the ones predicted by the RANS models (in which the collection efficiency is constant across the iterations).
I'm even thinking in an automatic process, but maybe more recent versions of the program allow to do that (I'm using the Fluent version 6.3).
Any help would be apreciatted.
