.dat file in fluent

when i call my .dat file in fluent i notice this...

Quote:

read_thread_data_section: invalid thread id 18.
Skipping data sub-section 2 for thread 1. Wrong size (3 != 2)
Skipping data sub-section 2 for thread 10. Wrong size (3 != 2)
read_thread_data_section: invalid thread id 11.
Skipping data sub-section 2 for thread 12. Wrong size (3 != 2)
read_thread_data_section: invalid thread id 13.

i have converted my openfoam data to fluent .dat case....on viewing with fluent display->contour->velcity. i found the whole domain red in colour

2- why does i have a lot of .dat files? Am i not supposed to have found only 1?

i would be really grateful to anyone who answer my queries

regards
zaynah

It seems an error in dimensions... Is your model 2D or 3D? Did you open Fluent for the same dimensions than your model?

yes i did..:(

model is 2D

Hi? I am now facing the similar problem. It's not about the dimensions, but sth else. It sometimes works, while sometimes not. It's about the number of residuals counted. very confusing.

Dear zaynah

i have tried the same thing but didn't suceeded.
You may try to post process the result in tecplot,ensight,paraview.
You may be to work a little more in these software but that will work out.
For loading the data file load the last data file in it.

Hope this helps

I met the same problem and found that was because that I tried to use Fluent V14 to open a V14.5 data file. The data file can be read by using 14.5 or probably a more higher version.

hi, I met the same problem when use 14.0 to read 14.5's data file.
have you tried to check whether this warning would have effects on the final results?
thanks very much.
