Hi friends,
I am beginner and I need your help. I am trying to model a 3 blades which rotates in a water tank. I am not sure about MRF and Sliding mesh? what kind of boundary condition should I use? what about interface? Please help me. Best wishes Peter |

Hi,
I think you should explain in more details. But, I can mention some points: 1-In rotating machinery problems may you want to solve rotor-store reactions. In this problems if you would like to solve an unsteady problem, you can apply sliding mesh. Indeed, sliding mesh is suitable for accurate solution in this condition. According to your brief description, I think you are not involved in moving parts interaction. So, If your tank does not any stationary vanes you can avoid sliding meshes. 2- MRF as well as Mixing plane are other approaches to solve rotor-stator problems. Of course, MRF and mixing plane are employed when you assumed that flow filed is not unsteady. 3- I guess you can use rotating reference frame, at least to start. Of course, it depends on your problem. Obviously, if you surf in the forum, you can find enough explanations on this issue. Best, Amir . |
