Hi
in Fluent guide in porous media part an example has been bought that :
"Consider a perforated plate which has 25% area open to flow. The pressure drop through the plate is known to be 0.5 times the dynamic head in the plate"
my question is: How "0.5" (bold part) was obtained? in other words how we can to obtain this coefficient for different porosity (for example 20% or 10%...)?
Thanks

The most typical approach is to use some empirical correlation. Idelchick is a common source of information and you can find a snippet for thin-walled perforated plates here: https://www.design1st.com/Design-Res...atedPlates.pdf .
