meshing for flapping wing simulation
I am to simulate transient flow around a naca 0012 rectangular wing of AR 3 undergoing pure plunging motion.motion was defined with the help of define cg motion macro.i tried to validate my results but it failed.the mesh used was unstructured tetrahedrons.i think the problem lies in the poor quality mesh resulting from the dynamic mesh update near the wing model.
My question is how can i make a structured mesh near the model that moves with the model and the rest of the domain consist of unstructured mesh in which dynamic mesh updates occur so that mesh in vincinity of wing remains of good quality? |
Did you apply inflation layers of prisms near the wing in the boundary layer region?
|
no i did not apply a prism layer near the moving body.if i do so would the structured prism layer move with the body when i hook a udf, defining plunging motion,to the body?
Cant i develop a subdomain of strucutred elements surrounding the moving body and moving with it inside a domain of unstructured elements which deform? I saw this type of approach in a paper on page number 40-41 whose link is: https://www.google.com/search?q=dpro...w=1173&bih=778 please help! |
what is an interface boundary condition?can it be used to solve my problem?

yes exactly i want to do like that but how?
can you please tell me how to make the 2 domains in ansys meshing or icem cfd? |
