need help to solve "error"

how to solve this error?

WARNING: Unassigned interface zone detected for interface 10

define / mesh-interface / create or equivalent operations in GUI

ahvz March 18, 2013 21:22

thank you for reply,

I did, but there is a problem, because, I defined bound between solid and air and its only one bound while the error happens regarding to "create edit mesh interface" zone 1 and zone 2 but I have only one zone defined. how to create another zone?
where is my mistake?

Error: Zone boundairsolid1 selected in both left and right interface lists
Error Object: #f

Done.

If this is the surface separating fluid and solid, then you should change its type to wall.

ahvz March 19, 2013 05:36

Indeed, this are connected from one side. So, I should define interface instead of wall am I right?
when we should really use interface?

vasava March 19, 2013 07:18

Yes, you need to define interface between two zones. You can do it in Define>Mesh Interfaces.

ahvz March 19, 2013 07:32

but my problem is how is it possible to have two zone ? when I open mesh interface there is appear only one zone which its bound between two zones..
can't understand my mistake

vasava March 19, 2013 09:16

can you post picture of your mesh and model?

oj.bulmer March 19, 2013 09:52

Which software did you use to create mesh? Whatever it is, did you create any boundary condition with a name that has word "interface" in it? If yes, FLUENT gets confused and considers it as interface, though it is not intended to be.

I didn't name with "interface" at all in mesh file. (ICEM)

I attached my 2D model. let hear your opinions...

The answer lie within your own comment. In order to have an interface you must have two domains. When you create two domains in contact with each other, the meshing software either ICEM or Ansys-Meshing should automatically generate the interface.

Tip: In ICEM or Ansys-Meshing you can right click the 'Mesh Connections' option and select 'Create Automatic Connections' to generate interface.

Next, When you import your mesh in Fluent you will see that the 'Mesh Interface' option is automatically activated. You need not do anything unless you observe that your flow is not behaving properly.

Thank you for your answer,

I did. but now, when I open mesh into the FLUENT the below warning appear at the begin: what can I do to solve the problem?

Warning: Flow boundary zone 8 is adjacent to a solid
zone (4). This problem MUST be fixed before
solution can proceed!

thank you for your answer all,

but already its correct and I have this error even defined fluid and solid in "cell zone condition". still have a warning...

I followed like this suggestion by m2montazari
http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/flu...snt-occur.html

vasava March 21, 2013 10:48

My previous answer was wrong. Sorry about that. I forgot that you have air and solid. Here is the correct answer.

When you want to simulate conjugate heat transfer you must activate ‘coupling ’ in the ‘define interface’ section. By default this option is not activated. So you must delete the current interface first and then create a new interface and select coupled.

ahvz March 21, 2013 10:53

thank you Vasava,

now its okay. without "warning".

another question may not belong to this part, however, its my problem.

how to input a Time-Temperature file regarding to do transient analysis ?

Is there any procedure?

I already done into ANSYS apdl but in FLUENT I dont know how...

regards,

vasava March 21, 2013 12:37

Do you mean time dependent temperature profile as boundary condition?

ahvz March 21, 2013 12:39

exactly!,

I have time- temperature profile which should be imposed to the model.. now I cant find the import such a file in FLUENT ...

thank you for your attention ,

vasava March 21, 2013 15:32

I think you can make UDF with DEFINE_PROFILE macro.
