Hi, I´m a student from Spain.

I´m doing a study with Ansys fluent to simulate the extraction of a thrombus on an artery. I´m trying to suck out the thrombus assuming that the artery is completely blocked.

I´m not an expert on this software so i´m having some problems and maybe i won´t express myself very well, so excuse me for that.

I´m simulating the artery as a tube, I have the properties of blood of density and viscosity. My boundary conditions are: Wall on the wall artery, pressure outlet on the outlet(this is the open wall) and on the inlet i have tried with wall condition and with velocity inlet=0. The inlet is the wall where the thrombus is positioned, so is the wall that is blocked.

I didn´t get good results, so any help will be great.

Thank you and excuse me for my english.

So you want to simulation displacement of thrombus with flow of blood. Am I right?

I just want to study the pressure distribution on the thrombus, to see if i can extract it, but I think it´s necessary that walls can be deformed and I don´t know if that´s possible in Fluent.

I´ve been trying to simulate this problem with FSI but it was too difficult for me because I didn´t get any result.

Thank you very much
