not automatically!
One way is to save hardcopies as jpg, tiff etc. at certain time steps. Afterwards you can view them directly by e.g. imagemagick's "animate"-functionallity if your OS is Linux or you have to convert your sequence of images to a common video format (avi, mpeg etc.).

Or you use a separate postprocessing tool like cfd-post, ensight, fieldview where you can postprocess data-files directly.

u must define animation first, after that fluent save some images on ur hard disk depends on ur definition of time for saving, and after iteration u can watch animation at play back
but it may take lots of hard disk space for saving images of ur flow,be ware

Yes you can see the unsteady animation after solution is completed if flow is unsteady.

Just go to define animation and start to record it. Once you have saved enough frames go to animation panel and write mpeg file. You are done.

hi,

did you try cfd-post, I usually save data and then open it using cfd-post, you've got a whole bench of tools there, planes, streamlines, vortex core regions.........etc and of course you can generate time evolution animations in .wmv format , give it a shot

I really got tired with that animation, sequences and camera tool within fluent I had to set it up all before the run...even I got the case saved on the disk it never stored the animation settings.

good luck

hi ehsan,

I don't know which version of fluent you are using, you may have cfd-post if you are using version 12 and above.... v13.0 x64 should be just fine- but if you're on fluent 6 your gonna have to save regularly your cases too not necessarily one .cas for every .dat file but just save data as frequently as you desire and write down a case to handle your data files, for example lets say write a data file every 100 time steps and save the case file every 4000 timesteps. theoretically one case file should be enough to handle all the data.

I'll be around if you need more details.
